Cookie Policy

This document describes the policy of the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) in relation to the receipt and processing of information about users during their visit to the sites maintained by WCIF, in particular inspire.frgi.bg.

This document is an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions of Use of our sites. To make sure you get the most relevant information and the best quality of service when you visit our sites, we use so-called cookies. They help us (and other authorised third parties) to provide a personalised approach when using our services, to improve our services and to provide more relevant content.

This Cookie Policy can tell you what technologies we use, what they do and what choices you have in relation to their use.
If you do not want to accept cookies or wish to choose more specific settings, you will find more information in this policy.

What are cookies

Cookies (HTTP Cookies) are small text files that a web server may save on your device/browser when you visit one of our websites. The next time you visit a page on the site, your browser sends back to the server the information in the cookies thus created. Cookies are an important component for the proper functioning of almost every website on the Internet.

For the purposes of this policy and for maximum clarity, the term also generalizes other similar technical mechanisms, in addition to HTTP Cookies, through which your browser may allow information to be stored locally, such as: Web Storage (Local Storage and Session Storage), Indexed Database API (IndexedDB), Web SQL Database, Local shared objects (Flash Cookies), Web beacons.

We and our service providers may use the following types of cookies:

Mandatory cookies (essential cookies)

These are necessary for our sites to perform their basic functions. Our sites could not function without them. Such cookies are for example: for user sessions and ancillary functions related to them. If you disable these cookies, you will not be able to log in to your account on our sites, you will not be able to perform, for example, submission of project proposals for funding in inspire.frgi.bg and other actions.

Performance and functionality cookies

These cookies are used for other important functions, such as:

  • To enable us to recognise you when you return to our sites or use our services;
  • To remember user preferences (e.g. what settings you have selected);
  • To be able to recommend services that match your preferences;
  • To collect information about how visitors use our sites so that we can keep them looking their best and improve our services;
  • To temporarily store anonymous information that helps us best provide you with relevant suggestions;
  • For other ancillary functions.

If you delete these cookies, our Sites will be severely limited in functionality and will not be able to function properly and provide you with a good quality of service.

Third party cookies for traffic counting purposes

WCIF uses several external services that may also create cookies in your browser. These cookies are managed by the respective services and are not controlled by us. The information in them is anonymous. The purpose of these external services is to anonymously count statistical information about traffic to our site so that we can monitor the effectiveness of our services and improve them. One such external counting service is Google Analytics.

Google Analytics uses a variety of technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, and other sensors that can, for example, supply Google with information about nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points, and power. For more information about how Google Analytics uses this data, please see “How Google Processes Data When You Use Our Partners’ Pages or Apps,” (at: google.com/policies/privacy/partners//, or any other web address where Google may post these terms). Please check Google’s page periodically for any changes or updates to these terms and to the information collected through Google Analytics.

Third party cookies for advertising purposes

We use several third-party ad network services that may also create cookies on your browser. These cookies are managed by the respective services and are not controlled by us. The information in them is anonymous. The purpose of these external services is to provide opportunities to perform advertising campaigns. They may use cookies for the purpose of identifying and personalizing advertisements to our platform on external sites and services. One such external advertising platform is Facebook Ads.

Third party cookies – for functionality

Some cookies also occur in connection with third party tools that we have integrated into our Sites. For example, the Facebook API (the options for “Sign in with Facebook”, “Like on Facebook”, etc.) and the Google API (the options for “Sign in with your Google account”, “View on map”, etc.), which may create cookies in order to function. These cookies are managed by the respective services and are not controlled by us. For our part, we cannot provide the technical capability to disable them. Therefore, if you do not want them to occur, you should not use the external tools listed above integrated into our sites. We try to ensure that the third parties we partner with are properly vetted and of proven authority and professionalism.

Cookies created when a visitor visits our sites by clicking on an advertisement on our sites located on an external third party site cannot be pre-vetted by the user, i.e. they are saved by default and read by our sites once the visitor has come from a third party site. Cookies functioning on this principle in order to perform the functions of our advertising affiliate system are not unique to the visitor and could not lead to the identification of the person.

Setting and deleting cookies
You can choose whether or not to accept cookies, and what type of cookies you would like to accept, in the following ways:

  • Settings via your browser. You can explicitly disable or restrict cookies through your web browser settings. Every modern web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc.) provides options for:
    • settings for accepting cookies – disabling and enabling (both overall and per site);
    • viewing the cookies created;
    • deletion of cookies created.

It is important to keep in mind that disabling the cookie functions in your browser may result in your inability to use our services, as without the mandatory cookies our sites cannot perform their basic functions.
